Summerfest!!!

So finally rains have hit the Columbia, its nonstop raining since past 24 hours and I am enjoying it from my apartment. Evening hours were pleasant with no rains around and I have enjoyed my usual evening jogging followed by a downtown walk. The weather was humid since I came back from India and I was eagerly waiting for some rains... so it was a perfect day out there.

I went to downtown for the first time after coming back from India, it is as good as it was and finally decided to walk through Broadway and comeback to apartment. I was about to turn back and suddenly some drums and guitar sound hits my ears... I just asked my fellow that lets follow this sound. That sound took us to ninth street (the most happening street in downtown), and saw a whole concert was set up there... OMG, It was Sumerfeast- the annual summer festival of the Columbia!!! It is a 4 month long festival where country bands comes and performs once in a month with a featured pop, rock or country band. As it is a family festival so you usually see more country band... and believe me the country music is as good as any other form of music if you are listening it live. I usually don't appreciate this music on radio, but my last two encounters made me curious about this music and I feel that now I am liking this.

The country music is based on some of the traditional instruments blend with some of the modern instruments as well, today I listen banjo after a long time and it was such a great feeling to express in words. The featured band of this month was 'Crackers' (even I heard this name for the first time!!!), they were nice with a lot of use of electric guitar and modern cords. I spent about an hour there and came back as stomach was crying of hunger.

It was a good time out there and for the first time I am feeling like studying after a long period of time... so getting back to world of my research...

Lets go wild...

This blog is specially for all my friends...

Today, I was thinking of my school and college days and was trying to compare me and some of you with those 'old' entities. Suddenly I found out that its been ages that I have shouted out of my heart or gone wild like what I was before. I do except all arguments about being so called 'mature', with the burden of our own life and the feel of responsibility... and a long list of all those synonyms but still I feel sometimes that we do have that wildness hidden somewherein our heart. Just an idea strike in my mind, why not live some moments with that wildness?? Come on guys... we are not that old!!!

Why not having sometime for ourselves, at least some moments of true joy, anger and thinking for our selves... of course not in front of your boss or professor, may be in front of a mirror!!! Way to look at the darker side of night when moon is reflecting the light of sun and showing us the way to cherish.

Lets be a kid, lets go crazy, Lets Go Wild...

SARGAM

Its been more then a month, but life was so busy that it was really hard to get on to Voyage. Lets have a look at the headlines-

1. Became one of the student leader on campus.
2. Bought a car.
3. About to leave for Georgia for a trip.
4. Conducted a couple of programs successfully.
5. SARGAM is coming tomorrow.

SARGAM is annual classical music and classical dance show hosted by the Indian Association and Indian Community in Columbia. This guys are really trying hard to get to culture and nurture it. I don't know what changes do we feel when we came here, but even the small and trivial things gave a pleasure of being close to the nation.

I don't remember that when I have attended the classical music show in India last time, or how much I was interested in that even I have attended in that. But, this story is really different - I am really excited, I am really looking forward for it... Probably we know the value of things when they are away from us.

Will come with more details of SARGAM day after tomorrow.

Talaash

This poem I wrote about an year back when I arrived here-

TALAASH

Anjaan raho par, kuch jaane-pachaane nishan dhundata hoon,
Ajnabion ki bheed main, kuch pachaane chahare dhundata hoon,
Ho jata hoon kabhi kabhi baichain, rahat ke do pal dhundata hoon.

Chaka-choundh hai chaaro aur, ek sukun ki jagah dhoondata hoon,
bheed hai charo aur, kuch doston ki kami hai,
... shayaad isliye hi, tanhai dhundata hoon.

Mahak raha hai jahan yaha par, apni mitti ki mahak dhundata hoon,
aage bada chal ja raha hoon, par gujre hue pal dhundata hoon,
maalum nahi jana kahan hai, har raaste par ek mukaam dhundata hoon,
kho na doon khud-ko kahi, isliye hi ek astitva dhundata hoon....

I wandered lonely as a cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: -
A poet could not but be gay
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -and gazed -but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought.

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills
And dances with the daffodils.

Bawara mann...

Control of the mind is probably one of the most difficult task in the world, specially for me. Sometimes I think that why I am like that... may be reason is that I want or I enjoy being like that. One night you sleep happily but next morning you feel gloomy and down. One day you like someone and talk with that person, other day you are running away and the story goes on...

Hard to explain and very difficult to understand the webs that reside in a mind...
