2 Songs

Choosing two songs is not a difficult task for me, as there are two songs which are always in playlists. As far as music goes, I love sufi, 80's rock, 60's and 70's music. Most of the time, selection of music depends on mood...

1. Estranged (Guns n' Roses)- One of the all time favorite of mine, I heard this for the first time in 2007 (I know its very late) and since then it is a permanent member of my playlist. There was huge transition from liking the opening guitar by Slash to lyrics. This number is magical, at least for me.

2. What a wonderful world (Louis Armstrong)- Beautiful lyrics and a great feel good factor associated with it. Let the song speak for itself:

"Say"

After a long time, a came across a song which is worth posting. It not a very new song, but I heard it sometime back and it got lost in shuffle. I must say it has double effect if you listen it rather than just reading the lyrics, so here it is "Say"- By John Mayer

"Say"

Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put 'em in quotations

Say what you need to say [x8]

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you'd be better off instead,
If you could only . . .

Say what you need to say [x8]

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You'd better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say [x24]

P.S.- This song is worth dedicating to everyone reading this post...

Yesterday Once More

This is the generation of Rock music and Hard Metal, and I am one of them who follow this form of music religiously. But, some time you are not in mood to listen the 'heavy' music and at one such moment about two years back I started searching some old school stuff. The result was incredible and more than my expectation.

I started with listening to Smokies, Chirs Nroman was just amazing those days leading Smokies to name and fame. As I started exploring, it was really hard to believe that how such a wonderful music can be forgotten or lost. The list goes on with The Carpenters, Eagles, Scorpions and many more such groups. More I listen more I am involved with them, whether its small account of Yesterday Once More (Carpenters) or the extreme emotions with Lay Back in the Arms of Someone (Smokies). Each and every song has something to offer with its uniqueness and simplicity. How can one forgot Hotel California (Eagles) or Wind of Change (Scorpions). Well, after listening to these songs on youtube, the next thing in my to-do list to purchase some of these musical gems to keep them with me all the time.

Now looking at some other untouched music, especially by Indian audience is American Country Music. There are a lot of small music bands there, and believe me they carries a whole new dimension in the world of music. They may not me huge hits around the globe like their pop and rock counterparts but they are no less in quality. I started listening to this form of music during my road trip to Cumberland Island in Georgia, while playing around different radio stations while passing through states of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia. Just roam around the Nashville- the music capital of America and listen to the singers on road side, you will not believe that you may never want to leave that place due to mixed effect of atmosphere of Somkie Mountains and the Country Music… its like drinking 200 yrs old wine. You might want to check some of numbers by Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Julianne Hough, Keith Urban, etc. The use of the basic instruments like Guitar, Harmonica, Banjo, and Mandolin will take you to another level of musical satisfaction.

Pray for me brother... A.R. Rahman

Wonderful lyrics by Blaaze.. A.R. Rahman

Pray for me brother
Pray for me brother
Pray for me sister
Are you searchin’….
Pray for me brother

Lookin’ for the answers To all the questions In my life
Will I be alone Will you be there By my side
Is it something he said Is it something he did
I wonder why He is searchin’ For the answers
To stay alive

Could you ever listen Could you ever care
To speak your mind
Only for a minute For only one moment
In time

The joy is around us But show me the love
That we must find
Are you searchin’ For a reason to be kind, to be kind…
He said… Pray for me brother

Pray for me brother Pray for me sister
Pray for me brother

Say what you wanna say now
But keep your hearts open
Be what you wanna be now
Let’s heal the confusion
Pray for me brother

Don’t let me take When you don’t wanna give
Don’t be afraid Just let me live
Don’t let me take When you don’t wanna give
Don’t be afraid Say what you wanna say now
But keep your hearts open

Be what you wanna be now Let’s heal the confusion
Pray for me brother Pray for me brother
I’m ashamed ah, brother be dying of poverty
when he down on his knees its only then he prays
And it’s a shame ah, brother be dying of ignorance
cos the world is a trip and everybody’s a hypocrite
Need to stop ah , taking a look at the other
I’m not ashamed of poverty
need to be making his life better
So think about it, think about it once more
cos life is a blessing and it’s not justa show, ah
Round and round the world is spinning around

We need to be singing a prayer, we need to be singing it now
Round and round the world is turning around
We need to be singing a prayer, we need to be singing it now
Need to be feeling the power, need to be feeling the faith
We need to coming together just to win this race

Need to be feeling the power, need to be feeling the faith
We need to coming together just to win this race (twice)
Are you searching for a reason to be kind ?

Summerfest!!!

So finally rains have hit the Columbia, its nonstop raining since past 24 hours and I am enjoying it from my apartment. Evening hours were pleasant with no rains around and I have enjoyed my usual evening jogging followed by a downtown walk. The weather was humid since I came back from India and I was eagerly waiting for some rains... so it was a perfect day out there.

I went to downtown for the first time after coming back from India, it is as good as it was and finally decided to walk through Broadway and comeback to apartment. I was about to turn back and suddenly some drums and guitar sound hits my ears... I just asked my fellow that lets follow this sound. That sound took us to ninth street (the most happening street in downtown), and saw a whole concert was set up there... OMG, It was Sumerfeast- the annual summer festival of the Columbia!!! It is a 4 month long festival where country bands comes and performs once in a month with a featured pop, rock or country band. As it is a family festival so you usually see more country band... and believe me the country music is as good as any other form of music if you are listening it live. I usually don't appreciate this music on radio, but my last two encounters made me curious about this music and I feel that now I am liking this.

The country music is based on some of the traditional instruments blend with some of the modern instruments as well, today I listen banjo after a long time and it was such a great feeling to express in words. The featured band of this month was 'Crackers' (even I heard this name for the first time!!!), they were nice with a lot of use of electric guitar and modern cords. I spent about an hour there and came back as stomach was crying of hunger.

It was a good time out there and for the first time I am feeling like studying after a long period of time... so getting back to world of my research...

Minutes to midnight

Lyrics from new album of Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight song is called, "The little things give you away"

Memories missed of a time gone by
Suddenly forgot now I remember why
It fell apart cause you broke my heart
Wasn't too smart couldn't see you depart
The times we had now they're gone forever
It all came too an end what for whatever
A picture of you like a blast from the past
Reminds me that you were the one to stop caring last

Voices inside of me tells me to be gone
I needed to be free but you held me in your palm
I'm free to do as I will
I'm free I'm free to remain
I am free

Now the barrel is pointed at you
Reach double gloss show what you can do

Point your finger on someone else
Blame anyone just to save yourself
Even less than what I have on my chest
As im with you now im not impressed
All i need now is some fresh air to breathe
This room is choking me with egwoine greed

I'm free to do as I will
I'm free I'm free to remain
why does all stupidity
call it what you will (call it what you will)
i've been through therapy

im free to do as I will
im free to remain
im free to do as I will
im free to remain.

If everyone cared...

Its a lovely song with a wonderful video...
I was listening to this song, then thought this could be a nice thing to share with you guys....
by Nickelback

If Everyone Cared

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

And I'm singing

Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
(I'm alive)

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died...

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died
