That’s the way it is!!!
There are the days when we get up in the morning and find that things are not the way we hoped they would be. Some times people disappoint us and let us down. Some people think that it is the worst time in their life, but we can think in other way as well, so that the “worst” can be the “best”. All that is needed is to change the perspective towards the problem. If we live our life believing in our self, having faith on our strengths and having courage to accept our weaknesses in order to mitigate them, then suddenly things around us change dramatically. A ray of hope in the darkness appears and shows us a new path for voyage of life.
The favorite word of mine is “Challenge”. I constantly look around to search for some challenges in life, and they keep me going. If we consider our weaknesses as challenges, our innermost sphere provokes us to fight against them. Always keep in mind “Success comes when planning meets action”. If you constantly keep yourself headed in right direction, you will realize an incredible strength in your self. The times of struggle help in realizing who you are and what are you for. If you want to leave your footprints on the sands of time, do not drag your feet, instead, accept the challenges, lift your foot and move ahead.
Once you determine your goal and start moving towards them, all other spheres in your life becomes subservient. In our path to destination, days come with burden of new responsibilities and frustration. At that time, keep in mind that challenges and changes will help you to find the goal. They are just milestones on the path of life. We have to accept that nothing so called destination exists in life. As we reach one, we set other for us with a new set of challenges. So, in the journey of life, we have just short sojourns, not destination. But achievements and success give us satisfaction and moments to cherish.
Life is a celebration for those who know how to “live” it.
Another word of impact in my life is “adventure”. I am incomplete without adventures. Adventures are well embedded in every sphere of our life and the world around us. You can find them just by looking around with a new perspective. It is a kind of fun for me, I can find it in very trivial things like trying some new dish or in a kind of experimentation while cooking or in extreme things like reaching on the top of a hill and shouting from deep inside. In the words of my hero, great cyclist, Lance Armstrong-
“I want to die at hundred years old with an American flag on my back and the star of Texas on my helmet after screaming down an Alpine descent on a bicycle at 75 miles per hour. I want to cross last finish line as my stud wife and the children applaud, and then I want to lie down in a field of those famous French sunflowers and gracefully expire, a perfect contradiction of my once anticipated poignant early demise.
A slow death is not for me, I don’t do anything slow, not even breathe. I do everything at fast cadence: eat fast, sleep fast…” (From his autobiography “It’s not about bike…”).
On the path of success and achievements, we find many hurdles. I would like to mention significant one, the “Comfort Zone”. Most of us like to be in our comfort zones, we hesitate to move out and “discomfort” our self. This zone could be our friend circle, family, home or anything. Try to get out of it, then you will see the difference, you will feel more courageous to meet and face the strangers, you will be more adaptable and comfortable in any situation. In Shri Bhagavad Gita it is written somewhere –
“Not deluded by pride, free from selfish attachment and selfish desire, beyond the duality of pleasure and pain, even aware of Self, the wise go forward to eternal goal.”
So, just move ahead with ‘go and get it’ strategy, that’s the way it is! In the words of Lewis Carrol-
Let Craft, Ambition, Spite,
Be quenched in Reason's right,
Till weakness turn to might,
Till what is dark be light,
Till what is wrong be right!
