Talaash

This poem I wrote about an year back when I arrived here-

TALAASH

Anjaan raho par, kuch jaane-pachaane nishan dhundata hoon,
Ajnabion ki bheed main, kuch pachaane chahare dhundata hoon,
Ho jata hoon kabhi kabhi baichain, rahat ke do pal dhundata hoon.

Chaka-choundh hai chaaro aur, ek sukun ki jagah dhoondata hoon,
bheed hai charo aur, kuch doston ki kami hai,
... shayaad isliye hi, tanhai dhundata hoon.

Mahak raha hai jahan yaha par, apni mitti ki mahak dhundata hoon,
aage bada chal ja raha hoon, par gujre hue pal dhundata hoon,
maalum nahi jana kahan hai, har raaste par ek mukaam dhundata hoon,
kho na doon khud-ko kahi, isliye hi ek astitva dhundata hoon....

I wandered lonely as a cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: -
A poet could not but be gay
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -and gazed -but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought.

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills
And dances with the daffodils.

Bawara mann...

Control of the mind is probably one of the most difficult task in the world, specially for me. Sometimes I think that why I am like that... may be reason is that I want or I enjoy being like that. One night you sleep happily but next morning you feel gloomy and down. One day you like someone and talk with that person, other day you are running away and the story goes on...

Hard to explain and very difficult to understand the webs that reside in a mind...

Thats the way it is...

Today I was browsing through some of the old mails... suddenly came across one of the old article that I wrote couple of months back and published in two magazine. So, I thought this is a good thing to share with-

Top of Form

That’s the way it is!!!

There are the days when we get up in the morning and find that things are not the way we hoped they would be. Some times people disappoint us and let us down. Some people think that it is the worst time in their life, but we can think in other way as well, so that the “worst” can be the “best”. All that is needed is to change the perspective towards the problem. If we live our life believing in our self, having faith on our strengths and having courage to accept our weaknesses in order to mitigate them, then suddenly things around us change dramatically. A ray of hope in the darkness appears and shows us a new path for voyage of life.

The favorite word of mine is “Challenge”. I constantly look around to search for some challenges in life, and they keep me going. If we consider our weaknesses as challenges, our innermost sphere provokes us to fight against them. Always keep in mind “Success comes when planning meets action”. If you constantly keep yourself headed in right direction, you will realize an incredible strength in your self. The times of struggle help in realizing who you are and what are you for. If you want to leave your footprints on the sands of time, do not drag your feet, instead, accept the challenges, lift your foot and move ahead.

Once you determine your goal and start moving towards them, all other spheres in your life becomes subservient. In our path to destination, days come with burden of new responsibilities and frustration. At that time, keep in mind that challenges and changes will help you to find the goal. They are just milestones on the path of life. We have to accept that nothing so called destination exists in life. As we reach one, we set other for us with a new set of challenges. So, in the journey of life, we have just short sojourns, not destination. But achievements and success give us satisfaction and moments to cherish.

Life is a celebration for those who know how to “live” it.

Another word of impact in my life is “adventure”. I am incomplete without adventures. Adventures are well embedded in every sphere of our life and the world around us. You can find them just by looking around with a new perspective. It is a kind of fun for me, I can find it in very trivial things like trying some new dish or in a kind of experimentation while cooking or in extreme things like reaching on the top of a hill and shouting from deep inside. In the words of my hero, great cyclist, Lance Armstrong-

“I want to die at hundred years old with an American flag on my back and the star of Texas on my helmet after screaming down an Alpine descent on a bicycle at 75 miles per hour. I want to cross last finish line as my stud wife and the children applaud, and then I want to lie down in a field of those famous French sunflowers and gracefully expire, a perfect contradiction of my once anticipated poignant early demise.

A slow death is not for me, I don’t do anything slow, not even breathe. I do everything at fast cadence: eat fast, sleep fast…” (From his autobiography “It’s not about bike…”).

On the path of success and achievements, we find many hurdles. I would like to mention significant one, the “Comfort Zone”. Most of us like to be in our comfort zones, we hesitate to move out and “discomfort” our self. This zone could be our friend circle, family, home or anything. Try to get out of it, then you will see the difference, you will feel more courageous to meet and face the strangers, you will be more adaptable and comfortable in any situation. In Shri Bhagavad Gita it is written somewhere –

“Not deluded by pride, free from selfish attachment and selfish desire, beyond the duality of pleasure and pain, even aware of Self, the wise go forward to eternal goal.”

So, just move ahead with ‘go and get it’ strategy, that’s the way it is! In the words of Lewis Carrol-

Let Craft, Ambition, Spite,
Be quenched in Reason's right,
Till weakness turn to might,
Till what is dark be light,
Till what is wrong be right!

Columbia fiza...

One of the most beautiful morning in this dead winter. Some change in weather and very light shower with mild wind and refreshing atmosphere. The fog around here is giving a scenic look, everything is just seems to be right in place like some location in Yash Chopra movie.

Its too hard to explain everything in words, well may be some moments of relief in this weather. Temperature has raised from -14 to 8 in last couple of days. So, having fun outside on jogging track...

Itz Cricket Matter...

“I am satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that Harbhajan Singh directed that word at Andrew Symonds and also that he meant it to offend on the basis of Symonds’ race or ethnic origin,” said Procter.
--The Hindu

I don't know how Mr. Procter got this satisfaction "beyond a reasonable doubt", as far as sources and reports are concerned no one but Symonds hear those golden words. In this situation only god knows that what was going on in that meeting for six and half hours. That too came up with such a great outcome, for me which is "beyond a reasonable doubt- unfair and unacceptable". I think it is the best time to charge ICC and some of its gentleman for offend some of the nations for discrimination on the basis of race and ethnic origin.

Its not the only case when this type of decision was taken against an Asian country, ICC has a good track record of such decision. I anticipate that if there is a player from England or Australia instead of India, definitely all allegation against might proved to be false.

But, we are still living in Cricket world... where anything and everything can happen, and being an Indian with very short memory of the incidences, we will forget all this things and again fall into blues of cricket very soon.

P.S.- Hates off to BCCI for their decision of being with Bhajji and fight for him in court of ICC. I hope some good will come out of all these.

Behind memory lane...

This was an amazing day after coming here, today I got two nice surprises... May be not very interesting to others but meant a lot to me...

The very first one (and the most important one)... talking to a childhood friend whom you have not talked since past 16-17 years, and that too in a way like we were around since then. Don't know how to explain all that... but that made my day!!! Thanks to facebook for that, this time wasting thing finally proved its importance. I can't explain things in details as it is very easy for me, but at same time equally complicated to explain to others the whole blog will fall short to explain this... So, I will come back to this very soon...

Lets come to second blockbuster of the day... May be it will sound like crazy, I got my Nokia 6600 charged and its in working condition. I really missed this small gadget since I came here. Although, it was with me all the time but in non working condition. So, finally after constant effort of one year I did it!!! I have never been obsessed by any electronic thing but this little one in my life... Today itself I freed my SIM and get this thing in running condition, thanks to T-mobile for that. It bring me back to my college days in India, I was just playing with this phone... reading the huge SMS collection that I have collected that time... exploring some old contacts... watching the videos, photos...

The two very important incidents... incomparable to each other... but with the same motivation... "lets get behind the memory lane..."

Nothing just time pass...

This is real bad time of year... no college, no classes, and total time killing. I had a lot plans before vacations but as usual, hardly 10% of them are implemented so far and 60% of time is over but hopes are still high... Don't know what I will gona to do and how I will do, but I want to do a lot of things... let the time come I will tell about them as well.

Ya, a good movie to watch- "The Great Debaters", based on true story and couple of great performances, along with acted and directed by Dengel Washington... check this out!!!
